Night Rating
Are you are a Private Pilot who does not want to be limited to daylight flying? Think about getting a Night Rating.
A Night Rating will allow you to expand your flying potential to 24 hours per day… and night! The Night Rating is excellent to have for safety reasons and it is fairly simple to obtain.
Minimum Requirements
- 10 hours night flying time
- 5 Dual, including 2 hours dual Cross-Country
- 5 Solo, including 10 takeoffs and landings
- 10 hours instrument flight time (5 of which you already have from your PPL flight training)
Most people complete the night rating at or close to minimum times, at an estimated total cost of $3900+hst. The night rating can be completed in as little as a week! let us know your timelines and goals.
You must possess a Private Pilot Licence in order to obtain a night rating. If you are interested in a Commercial Licence, the hours required for the night rating are included in your Commercial Pilot Licence training.
There is no flight test or written test component to the night rating. Once you’ve completed the requirements and are recommended for the rating by your instructor, our TC authorized person can sign off the rating locally and submit to Transport Canada on your behalf.
